Warranty Background - please note that when offering wood flooring through the web, it is difficult enough to properly represent uniform graded, first quality production. This is because wood is a product of nature and ranges widely in color, graining and natural character. Given all the exotic species we offer, the range of color/grain/character varies greatly species to species and then even from source region to region for an individual wood.

But this is also the beauty of wood - it is a natural product.  For each species, Cool Flooring attempts to offer as much general information on that wood as possible by providing links to web sites that describe each wood in depth. This allows you to understand what to expect with each species.  

In addition to offering first quality products, Cool Flooring also offers lower grades as well as flooring in cabin and shop grades which contain finish/milling/wood defects. With these items it becomes even more difficult to properly represent the look of what you are getting. On this site, we use a combination of photos and written descriptions to explain these.  

While we attempt to accurately describe the flooring offered and go to great lengths and expense doing so, your eye may differ from ours and we recognize that you might feel Cool Flooring has misrepresented a product. In such a case, we first ask that you recognize the stupendous value of the price at which you bought our flooring.

If you still feel you have not gotten a good value from Cool Flooring, we offer you our Pre-Installation Warranty for your security. This warranty provides you the opportunity to pre-inspect the flooring and return it for full credit under the following conditions.  

  • The flooring has not been installed - (if installed, you have deemed the flooring acceptable and the Pre-Installation Warranty is void).
  • Prior to returning the flooring, you must call Cool Flooring and get a return materials authorization number. At that time, we then arrange for the freight back to Cool Flooring in order to minimize cost by taking advantage of our low freight rates we have with the trucking companies.
  • The flooring is returned in its original packaging

Then:

  • If upon inspection, Cool Flooring determines that the flooring has been misrepresented from its web site description, Cool Flooring will refund your entire purchase price, including freight both ways, or; 
  • If upon inspection, Cool Flooring determines that the flooring has NOT been misrepresented from its web site description, Cool Flooring will refund your entire purchase price, less the freight costs both ways.  

Note: In the case of large orders, (full truck loads), being shipped direct from overseas or from our inventories stateside, we encourage you to visit the warehouse in order to inspect the goods first.

For performance issues after installation, Cool Flooring offers a 5 year Post-Installation Warranty  

Cool Flooring offers this Post Installation Warranty on First Quality Flooring only for a period of 5 years to the original buyer for residential use, with the warranty covering the following performance issues:

  • On all first quality Pre-finished flooring this warranty covers finish adhesion issues including the separation between finish layers and/or from the wood.
  • On all first quality Engineered flooring this warranty covers delamination issues including the separation of the face layer from the internal layers and/or the separation of the internal plies for reasons other than excessive moisture or dryness.

Post-Installation Warranty is limited to the lesser cost remedy to Cool Flooring of either Cool Flooring reimbursing you to repair the floor or for Cool Flooring to refund the purchase price of the floor, whichever is less. Cool Flooring shall not be responsible for any other incidental costs such as labor costs to install/rip out, trim replacement, furniture movement, etc.
